## Obtain identifiers and continuation In response paths below, `*` represents an array item. Identifiers in different fields can refer to different objects even when their formats look alike. Pass each `next_cursor` unchanged to the same endpoint, keeping the category, season, video, or thread where applicable. For endpoints with a `cursor` parameter, an absent top-level `next_cursor` on a successful response ends pagination. Use a Spotlight snap’s identifier for a video request. Do not substitute arbitrary story identifiers. Serialize a parent comment’s `reply_id` object unchanged as the `thread` JSON; its `highBits` and `lowBits` are decimal strings. The reference defines each parameter’s format, size limit, and requiredness. ## Read public profile fields On [`GET /profile/{username}`](https://monsterapi.co/docs/api/snapchat-profiles#profile-page-of-an-account), a `profile` with `type: publicProfileInfo` includes these optional fields: - `/profile/same_as_links`: external profile URLs, in their original order. - `/profile/category_string_id`: category identifier. - `/profile/subcategory_string_id`: subcategory identifier. Category and subcategory values are identifiers, rather than display labels. Missing or incompatible values are `null`. An empty link list stays `[]`, and an empty category or subcategory string stays `""`. These fields belong to this public-profile variant. Profiles with `type: userInfo`, related accounts, and publisher profiles retain their own fields. ## Read additional response fields These fields provide more information about the returned objects in version 0.17.0. Nullable fields are `null` when unavailable. When an existing video record has `created_time: 0`, the API retains `0` and returns `created_at: null`. This describes the API fields; it does not assign a universal meaning to zeros in Snapchat data. The rule applies to these video records: - [`GET /profile/{username}`](https://monsterapi.co/docs/api/snapchat-profiles#profile-page-of-an-account): `/spotlight_metadata/*/video` - [`GET /spotlight/{id}`](https://monsterapi.co/docs/api/snapchat-spotlight#one-spotlight-video): `/video` - [GET /feed/spotlight](https://monsterapi.co/docs/api/snapchat-spotlight#spotlight-feed): `/stories/*/metadata/video` - [`GET /lens/{id}`](https://monsterapi.co/docs/api/snapchat-lenses#lens-page): `/spotlights_using_lens_metadata/*` On [GET /feed/spotlight](https://monsterapi.co/docs/api/snapchat-spotlight#spotlight-feed), `/data/spotlightFeed/stories/*/metadata/videoMetadata/uploadDateMs` exposes the corresponding value. The date description “the same moment” applies when the nonzero timestamp can be represented as a UTC date. ## Continue publisher episodes Read `/sections/*/results/*/publisher/business_profile_id` from [GET /search](https://monsterapi.co/docs/api/snapchat-discovery#search-page) and use it as `bpid` in [`GET /publisher/{bpid}`](https://monsterapi.co/docs/api/snapchat-publishers#publisher-page). Use that publisher response’s `/seasons/*/id` or `/season_id` as `season_id` in [`GET /publisher/{bpid}/episodes`](https://monsterapi.co/docs/api/snapchat-publishers#episodes-of-a-season). To continue after its listed editions, pass `episodes_cursor` with the publisher response’s `season_id`. Subsequent pages use `next_cursor` from the episodes endpoint, unchanged as `cursor`. A populated terminal page has no top-level `next_cursor`. The `/data/publisher/publishedPremiumStoriesConnection/pageInfo/nextCursor` value can remain an empty string. An empty or unusable episode response can return `500` `upstream_shape`. This does not establish that the publisher or season is missing and does not mark successful completion. The episodes response echoes the requested `bpid`; that value does not confirm which publisher owns the supplied season. ## Handle temporary refusals A `503` `rate_limited` includes a `Retry-After` interval in seconds. Wait that long before retrying. A `503` `upstream_stale` means the requested data is temporarily unavailable. Try again later. On [GET /search](https://monsterapi.co/docs/api/snapchat-discovery#search-page), no result sections return `404`. Unsupported queries such as `snapchat` or `snap` also return `404`; use a different search query.
